NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR:
Master’s Level Internship
Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago (CCCOC) delivers outstanding counseling and therapy services to people of all ages, as well as couples and families. For more than twenty years, we have dedicated ourselves to preparing future clinicians to excel in our field. Our center provides training opportunities for doctoral fellows, counseling students, and social work students. CCCOC has high expectations of interns, the training is rigorous and as such, the internship program requires a strong commitment for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The 2026–2027 MA intern cohort will include three counseling positions and two second-year social worker positions. Applications will be accepted from November 15, 2025, to March 15, 2026. Interviews start in January 2026, with offers given within two weeks of the interview process.
The internship starts on August 18, 2026, with mandatory orientation and training from August 18 to August 21.
Internship Benefits and Opportunities

MA Level Clinical Counseling Experience
The clinical counseling training program provides interns with the opportunity to serve a broad range of clients presenting with mild to moderate psychopathology. Interns conduct psychotherapy both in-person and virtually, delivering services to adults, couples, families, and children.
Internship Hours
The counseling experience requires a commitment of 12 to 16 hours per week during practicum, and 18 to 24 hours per week during internship. The position requires two evenings per week and all day on Fridays; all hours are completed on-site at the CCCOC main office.
Supervision and Training
The intern will receive one hour each of individual and group supervision from fully licensed clinicians. Supervision covers interviewing, rapport building, diagnosis, case conceptualization, and documentation. Clinical trainings occur on the first and third Fridays each month.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a master’s degree in a related field (counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, or child psychology).
- Demonstrate strong interest in and experience with diverse clients, solid multicultural competence.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.

Bachelor’s Level Internship Program
The bachelor’s level training program is a good fit for counseling and social work students interested in learning the operational aspects of a counseling organization. In this position, the intern may have the opportunity to observe counseling in an individual or group setting.
The Training Experience:
The internship training program is based on a commitment to 8-10 hours per week, for two sixteen-week semesters. The starting date of the position may be negotiable depending on academic program requirements. Interns will receive one hour a week of individual supervision from a staff clinician.
The intern will directly assist with a wide range of projects related to intake processes, client care, and some administrative tasks.
Dates of Bachelor’s Level Internship:
Dates may be negotiable based on school requirements.

MA Level Advanced Social Work Experience
The social work training program provides the interns with the opportunity to work at a partner agency and also provide therapy to clients in the CCCOC main office. Interns may work with children, adults, couples, and families who have mild to moderate psychological concerns. In addition, the interns may have the opportunity to provide a professional presentation to our community partnerships.
Internship Hours
The internship is based on a commitment to 16-22 hours per week, for two sixteen-week semesters. Interns must be able to work a minimum of two evenings per week and all day on Fridays; all hours are on-site at a partnership and in the CCCOC main office.
Supervision and Training
The intern will receive one hour each of individual and group supervision from fully licensed clinicians. Supervision covers assessment, leading groups, interviewing, rapport building, diagnosis, case conceptualization, and documentation. Clinical trainings occur on the first and third Fridays each month.
Qualifications:
- Must have access to personal (not public) mode of transportation and be able to travel to different sites in the city of Chicago.
- Enrolled in a master’s degree in a social work program.
- Demonstrates strong interest in and experience with diverse clients, solid multicultural competence.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills.

Postdoctoral Fellow Job Description
Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago (CCCOC) is seeking to hire a Post-Doctoral Fellow. This is a full-time, 12 month to 24-month position, with a flexible start date but ideally no later than September 8, 2026.
Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago (CCCOC) is a vibrant, fast paced, multidisciplinary practice with a strong commitment to social justice, multicultural competence, and integration of Christian faith and practice. We are located on the Near Northside of Chicago.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Independently administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological test batteries, writing integrative psychological reports, and providing feedback to clients.
- Individual therapy across the life-span
- Couples and family therapy
- Attendance to team meetings
- Case management
- Timely completion of documentation
- Consultations with other professionals for client care
- Marketing and community outreach
- Opportunities to work with church partnerships
Qualifications
Preference will be given to the applications with the following:
- A doctoral degree in psychology and independently licensed at the master’s level and/or seeking to accrue supervised postdoctoral hours for licensure.
- Experience in providing psychological assessments and mental health services to a diverse population.
- Interest in supervision of BA and/or graduate level interns, and couples and family therapy.
- Must be able to work 2-3 evenings per a week and/or Saturdays.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
