ROLE SUMMARY
The Intake Coordinator conducts initial assessments of potential clients and determines the need for care. The Intake Coordinator is responsible for correctly matching clients based on clinical needs. This position requires skill in planning and organizing, strong verbal and written communication, and empathy to provide excellent client care. This role reports to the Clinical Director.
Client Registration and Intake
- Register new clients and walk them through the intake process by phone.
- Accurately record client information, access client needs and assign to the appropriate clinician.
- Provide referrals to individuals as needed, researching options as needed.
- Respond to web intakes within 24 hours.
- Create patient portals for new clients and assist clients with the process as needed.
Client Insurance Verification
- Verify potential client insurance benefits and review this with potential client.
- Coordinate and confirm alternative billing methods and program eligibility.
- Update manuals as insurance rules change.
Leadership
- Leads a weekly intake meeting and provides updates.
- Drives the Client Access Program (CAP).
- Point person with community partnerships for new clients.
- Assists in training new staff and yearly interns.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Training will be provided on practice EMR systems.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment or experience with health insurance.

Mental Health Therapist
CCOCC’s professional staff is made up of a culturally and ethnically diverse group of master’s and doctoral-level therapists who are committed to offering high-quality counseling services. While we each operate from a solid Christian perspective, we are also respectful and sensitive to clients’ varying beliefs and worldviews. All therapists have experience and expertise in working with a wide variety of clinical settings, client concerns, and spiritual, cultural, ethnic, and diversity issues.
Major Responsibilities:
- Part-time status: maintain a minimum of 10 direct service hours each week with two evenings shifts per week.
- Full-time status: maintain a minimum of 23 direct service hours each week with two evenings shifts per week.
- Attend bi-weekly trainings.
- Maintain client records, notes written accurately and within compliance standards.
- Respond to communications with clients and staff in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree Counseling, Clinical Psychologist, or master's degree in social work,
specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy preferred. - Prior clinical experience preferred; new graduates considered.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and teamwork are needed.
- Demonstrate commitment to Christianity and the mission of Cornerstone Counseling of Chicago.
